HGV Connect operates the website hgvconnect.co.uk and its subdomains. We are a driver registration platform that connects verified HGV drivers with specialist recruitment agencies in the United Kingdom.

2. What Data We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Registration data: Full name, email address, mobile phone number, postcode or region
- Professional data: Licence categories held (Cat C, Cat C+E, ADR, etc.), years of experience, CPC expiry date, preferred work types and shift preferences
- Contact form data: Name, email address, enquiry type, message content
- Agency partner data: Company name, contact name, email address, phone number, REC membership status
Information collected automatically
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type
- Usage data: Pages visited, time spent on pages, referral source, click patterns

4. Who We Share Your Data With
We share your data with the following categories of recipients:
- Partner recruitment agencies: When you register as a driver and consent to being contacted, we share your professional profile (name, contact details, licence categories, experience, preferences) with our vetted partner agencies only.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers: SiteGround (web hosting), Cloudflare (CDN and security). These providers process data only on our instruction and under appropriate data processing agreements.
- Form processing: WPForms processes form submission data on our behalf. Data is not retained by WPForms beyond processing.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose data where required by law, court order, or regulatory authority.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
You have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- Right to access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Right to rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure: Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Right to restrict processing: Ask us to limit how we use your data
- Right to data portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format

6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for the following periods:
- Driver registrations: Until you request deletion, or 24 months of inactivity — whichever comes first
- Contact form submissions: 12 months from submission
- Agency partner data: For the duration of the partnership plus 12 months
- Technical/log data: 90 days
7. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. This includes:
- HTTPS encryption on all data in transit
- Cloudflare DDoS protection and Web Application Firewall
- Access controls restricting who can access stored data
- Regular security reviews of our infrastructure

8. International Transfers
Your data is primarily stored and processed within the United Kingdom and European Economic Area. Where data is processed outside the UK/EEA (for example, by Cloudflare’s global network), appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK GDPR Chapter V requirements.
