WHAT ARE REALISTIC HGV WAGES IN 2025?

Forget the headlines about £70k driver jobs. They exist, but they’re outliers, usually tramping roles with brutal hours or specialist work like ADR tankers. For most drivers, here’s what you’re actually looking at:

• Cat C (rigid) drivers: £30,000–38,000 salary or £14–17/hr agency
• Cat C+E (artic) drivers: £35,000–35,000 salary or £16–22/hr agency
• ADR drivers: Add £2–4/hr premium
• HIAB/crane work: Add £1–3/hr premium
